FAQs
Answers to common questions about our teas, orders, and how Leaf & Lot works.
TEA & PRODUCTS
What makes Leaf & Lot tea different?
Leaf & Lot focuses on teas selected through direct exploration of tea growing regions and relationships with producers and suppliers. We aim to share teas that are distinctive, yet approachable, and connected to the places where they are grown and made.
How should I brew the tea?
Each tea has its own recommended brewing instructions. You will find suggested water temperature, leaf quantity, and steeping guidance on the product page and packaging.
These recommendations are a starting point. You can adjust the amount of tea, water temperature, or steeping time to suit your taste.
How should I store my tea?
Keep tea sealed and protected from moisture, light, heat, and strong odors. Storage recommendations may differ by tea, so please refer to the individual product page and packaging for specific guidance.
Does your tea contain caffeine?
Tea made from Camellia sinensis naturally contains caffeine. The amount can vary depending on the tea, leaf material, brewing temperature, steeping time, and quantity used.
Why can tea from different lots look or taste slightly different?
Tea is an agricultural product, so natural variation can occur between harvests and batches. We aim to supply the freshest tea, so we don't store inventory for too long. Weather, growing conditions, processing, and storage can all affect the appearance, aroma, and flavor of the finished tea.
ORDERS & SHIPPING
Where do you ship?
At launch, shipping availability will be shown during checkout. We may expand the regions we serve over time.
How long will my order take to ship?
Processing and delivery estimates are shown during checkout where available. Once your order has shipped, you will receive tracking information if tracking is provided for your shipment.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an order. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests before an order has been processed or shipped, but changes cannot be guaranteed.
RETURNS & PRODUCT ISSUES
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
Because tea is a consumable food product, we do not accept standard returns or exchanges once an order has shipped.
If your tea arrives damaged, compromised, defective, or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days of delivery so we can review the issue.
What should I do if there is a problem with my tea?
Please contact us at hello@leafandlot.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photographs of the product and packaging.
This includes issues such as an open or damaged pouch, an unexpected foreign object, significant shipping damage affecting the product, or receiving the wrong tea.
What if I simply do not like the flavor?
We are unable to offer refunds or exchanges based on personal taste or preference. Tea can vary naturally in aroma, appearance, and flavor, and brewing technique can also have a significant effect on the cup.
LEAF & LOT
What does “Lot” mean?
Lot is part of the way Leaf & Lot organizes and identifies the teas we select. Each lot helps distinguish a particular tea or release within the collection.
Will you add more teas in the future?
Yes! Leaf & Lot is intended to grow gradually as we continue exploring tea regions and taste new teas to build our collection. We are focused on China for now but stay tuned as we continue to expand.
How can I contact Leaf & Lot?
You can reach us at hello@leafandlot.com or through the Contact page. We will respond as soon as we can.
